AN ICONIC LOCATION - MAKE THE MOST OF IT!
The University of Otago campus and clocktower is an iconic New Zealand landmark. One you've walked every day for the past few years!

Let the location add to the story in your images and be proud of where you studied.

CAPTURE THE TRADITIONAL, THE FUN & THE CELEBRATION
A 45-minute session gives you plenty of time to capture a range of portraits with a variety of backgrounds around the clocktower and registry building.

I won't just photograph the traditional, posed portraits, but bring out the fun and natural expressions with lots of prompts and direction that will have everybody enjoying the experience.

INCLUDE YOUR FAMILY & FRIENDS
Would you be here without your family? Have they travelled a long way to celebrate this day with you?

Your family will be so proud of you (and will love having some updated pictures of all the family together)!

MAKE YOUR PORTRAITS LAST A GENERATION (OR MORE)
Your graduation portraits should be treasured - not lost in the dark, forgotten corner of an old laptop.
When you get your portraits printed and on display not only they will grow in value every year but they'll inspire the next generation.

Framed artworks, heirloom albums and matted portraits can be shipped to you anywhere in New Zealand.

HEY, I'M EDITH, YOUR DUNEDIN GRADUATION &FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
Welcome!

I'm so glad that you've landed here, because that means you're probably thinking about getting some graduation portraits, right?

I graduated university way back in 1991 (darn, that makes me feel a bit old) but I still have such strong memories of that day!

Don't underestimate what a special day your graduation is!

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the photos. They are amazing. We love them all!
You were so easy to work with. We never felt rushed and we all enjoyed the time on the Otago Campus.
The photos will be wonderful memories to look back on in years to come.

frequently asked questions

I HAVE LOTS OF FAMILY CELEBRATING WITH ME - IS THAT OK?
Children, parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends - if they're important to you and they've travelled to celebrate with you, of course they are welcome!

If you have lots of family attending it's a good idea to have a list of the various group combinations you would like.

MY FRIEND IS GRADUATING TOO - CAN WE SHARE A SESSION?
You are welcome to share your session, but keep in mind you will not get the same range of photographs as in a single session.

A shared session will usually give enough time to take some posed portraits of each graduate by themselves and with their respective families. There will unlikely be time to capture the more candid style images.

If you only want a few professional portraits, or you would like to reduce the cost, a shared session could be ideal for you.

Please note a shared session will not be suitable if one, or both, of you have a large group of family attending your graduation.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
After spending three or more years in Dunedin I'm sure you know by now that the weather is not always guaranteed!

If it rains you'll have to bring your can-do, let's-make-the-most-of-it attitude and I'll bring the umbrellas. This is the story of your day after all.

In my experience the showers often come and go and it's a rare occasion it absolutely pours down non-stop. Where possible we can also discuss moving to a different time or day.

I'M NOT COMFORTABLE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA - WILL YOU HELP ME OUT?
This is why you're hiring a professional!

I have lots of prompts, tips and tricks up my sleeve to help you relax. Many graduates tell me how much they enjoyed themselves at the end of their session and how the experience really added to their day.

WILL YOU DO SPECIAL REQUESTS?
It's your session!
If you have a particular image in mind or you want to do something a little bit out of the ordinary - like bring your cat because he was your study mate that got you through those long nights - then I'm with you all the way.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH OTAGO POLYTECHNIC GRADUATIONS?
Yes - of course!

You can choose your location - you may have somewhere on the polytech campus that is special for you, you may prefer a natural setting like the botanic gardens, or I often use the university campus to get that Dunedin heritage feel with the stone buildings and iron lacework.

If times aren't available for your graduation date please get in touch (as we usually wait until the polytech posts the day's schedule to work out the best times for photography sessions).
